Frequently asked questions

Short, precise answers about what AviNex does — and what it doesn't.

Frequently asked questions

What is AviNex?

An Electronic Flight Bag platform for airlines, with a crew app for the flight deck, a cabin app for cabin crew, and a web console for operations and administration.

Who is AviNex for?

Airlines: flight operations and dispatch, flight crew, cabin crew and cabin operations, EFB administrators and operations management.

Does AviNex work offline?

Yes. After the flight or duty package is downloaded, crews can keep working without a connection. A connection is needed to download packages and to sync entries back to operations.

How do flight plans get into AviNex?

AviNex receives operational flight plans in ARINC 633 format. Operations control then decides when each flight is released to the crew.

Does AviNex calculate aircraft performance?

No. Crews record takeoff and landing data such as runway, runway condition, V-speeds and flap setting. AviNex stores and shows these values; it does not compute performance.

What does AviNex do with fuel?

It shows the OFP fuel plan, checks reviewed figures against aircraft limits such as MZFW and maximum block fuel, converts requested fuel using the entered density, and records uplifts with supplier, voucher and receipt.

Where do weather and NOTAMs come from?

AviNex shows METAR, TAF and NOTAM information associated with each flight's stations and FIRs. Your operation's official briefing procedures continue to apply.

Which devices are supported?

Crew apps run on tablets and phones; the Operations Console runs in a web browser.

How is access controlled?

Through organisations, roles and feature-level permissions. Features a user cannot access are not shown. Crew devices are bound to your licence and can be terminated from the console.

What is in a completed flight report?

A PDF and spreadsheet report with CSV summaries of the flight, waypoints, crew and fuel, an activity log, plus the flight documents and fuel receipts.

How do we see a demo?

Use the contact page to request one. We'll arrange a walkthrough of the Flight Deck EFB, Cabin EFB and Operations Console.

Have a question we didn't answer?

Request a demo and we'll go through it with you.
